I consider mini-vacations as one of my anti-stress medicines. I need to have a dose every now and then to keep me going. Early this month, in time for Ed's birthday, we went to Yas Island for a weekend break at Radisson Blu. I was so glad to be away from the hustle and bustle of the big city for two days.
Radisson Blu is located at the prime spot of Yas Island. Tourist attractions like the F1 circuit and Ferrari World are near the hotel. It is one of the top hotels in the island, and we were lucky enough to book our stay on a promotional rate.
Here's our weekend of rest and relaxation in a 4-star hotel at half the price.
In different shades of red, Radisson Blu Hotel's lobby looks stylish.
Along with the elegant, but not intimidating ambiance, was a warm welcome given by the hotel staff.
In contrast to the red lobby, the room details are in shades of green.
I must say, they have the comfiest hotel bed I have ever slept in
Our room was with complete amenities, well-stocked mini bar, spacious washroom and an iHome.
The hotel's facade was under renovation during our stay. We heard a little noise from the drill in the morning. Since it was tolerable, plus the fact that were on a promotional stay, we found no reason to complain.
We had good view of the F1 circuit from our hotel window.
It would have been better if there was no renovation net.

This is the perfect combination to ease the stress: cabana by the pool, cool fresh air,
great view and quality time with my husband
The pool was under treatment on our second day at the hotel. We were given an option to use Park Inn's pool, which is just steps away.
Park Inn and Radisson Blu are on the same management.
Park Inn's swimming pool is a smaller version of Radisson Blu's.
At 7am , we had the pool for ourselves. We swam and splashed like little kids, until the real kids came and dominated the pool.
Radisson Blu have excellent restaurants.
We had an Italian dinner at Filini and a super breakfast at Assymetri.

Details about the restaurants will be on a separate post.
As I have mentioned, our stay had a couple of flaws. But the relaxing environment, discounted rate and the fun moments we had were enough to cover up the hotel's shortcomings.
Mini-Vacation / Getaway / Sweet Escape, whatever you call it, we had a fab one at Radisson Blu.
