If you have been reading my blog posts, then you probably know how gutsy my husband is. On his birthday, I wanted him to have his kind of fun, that includes adventure, speed and thrill. I can't afford to buy him a Ferrari or let him test-drive one, so I bought tickets to Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi instead.
Honestly, all I know is that Ferrari is just a flashy red car. If not for Ed, Ferrari World is the theme park I would probably skip. In my thoughts, cars and speedy park rides are for boys. A girly girl like me would feel out of place in a park with a masculine concept. But days before our visit, he was already ecstatic, that made me excited as well.
Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi is the world's largest indoor theme park. It is situated beside the F1 circuit at Yas Island. The theme park can be easily identified from the main road due to it's red roof with a big Ferrari logo. Regular entrance fee is 225AED. Since it's been my habit to check on discounts and promotions regularly (as in everyday... yes, I'm that crazy!), I found a deal in a website for 2 park tickets with an overnight stay at Radisson Blu for only 600AED. That was the best deal I've ever purchased so far.
We arrived at the park at 11am. Because Ed was too excited to ride the fastest roller coaster in the world, we headed to Formula Rossa immediately.
Formula Rossa looks simple, no loops and twists. The thrill of the ride is on its speed at 240km/hr. The riders have to wear protective goggles for safety reasons.
Wherever we go, there's always the Ferrari logo.
The Galleria Ferrari: A museum of Ferrari cars
All types of Ferrari from past to present were on display, along with its history.
Now I know, Ferrari is not just a red car.
It comes in different shades too. Hahaha! I'm not a car enthusiast, forgive me.
Bell Italia
We had our lunch at Rosticceria Modena. The restaurant serves Arabian and Italian cuisines. We had roasted chicken served Arabic style. We also had macaroni and cheese and meat pizza pocket with distinct Italian flavour. Food at Ferrari World are quite expensive, the half chicken was at 65AED, macaroni and cheese at 35AED and pizza pocket at 25AED.
While taking a break after lunch, I noticed how artistic the park's benches are.
lighted and colorful
giant wires
metal and classic
Speed of Magic
This is the ride I can tolerate. On 4D simulator, we had an adventure through the jungle, desert and mountains. It's not extreme, but seems like it!
Made in Maranello
I think this attraction is made for me. We took a journey at a Ferrari Factory and saw how the prestigious car is intricately made. Now I know how special the Ferrari is.
Fiorano GT Challenge
Another roller-coaster ride, but with a milder speed than the Formula Rossa.
Carnival Games and Ferrari Wold plush toys
Ferrari Cars as wall-decors? Not bad!
height check for the extreme rides
G-Force
As much as I want to be at highest point of Yas Island, I really don't like to be accelerated and dropped in a rush! G-Force ride is a big no for me. As usual, I sat on a bench and waited for Ed to be dropped from the tower. :)
Kart Zones for the kids
I skipped on rides but not on desserts!
enjoying my small cup of Gelato
La Piazza
an area for shows at the center of the park
We had fun watching Jason, the magician/comedian!
The Ferrari Store
A shop full of Ferrari goodies: shirts, shoes, tumblers, plush toys, candies... name it, they have it!
At the end of the day, I found myself holding "I heart Ferrari World" balloons (not just because it's cute). I was happy to know more about the flashy red car. I was delighted to see the Birthday Boy extremely thrilled. Ferrari World is impressive. We love it!

ReplyDeleteGreat blog & beautiful images! It seems Ferrari World has a lot in store than one can ever dream of. I would love to visit Ferrari World & other theme parks of Dubai with my family in upcoming months. A Dubai Visa from UK is all that we need to get to this beautiful destination.
