I prefer tea over coffee anytime of the day! Tea relaxes my senses, makes me feel better when I'm worried, stressed or sick. If cupcakes, pancakes and waffles are my comfort food, milk tea is my comfort drink. Recently, I dragged my husband (literally, since he is not into tea) to ShareTea, a newly opened bubble tea shop at DCC Metro Station in Deira.
ShareTea occupies a small spot at the metro station. There are few chairs for customers, but no tables. I hope they would extend their space soon and be a tea shop where one can relax after a busy day at work.
The tea variations listed on the menu gave me a hard time, most are pretty interesting to try.
Rock salt is something new to me, so, I ordered Cocoa with Rock Salt and Cream!
Rock salt is something new to me, so, I ordered Cocoa with Rock Salt and Cream!
-ShareTea 101-
The Asian girl who made my drink taught me the proper way to enjoy my drink. This process is applicable for the types with rock salt and cream toppings.
1. my sealed drink
2. me and my Cocoa with Rock Salt
3. make a big perforation at the side, and a small one on the other
4. drink from the big hole and enjoy the taste of the topping
(didn't know rock salt could go well with cream)
5. put the straw in and mix the remaining toppings to your drink
6. sip from the straw and savor the sweetness
7. forget about your worries and act silly (not actually a part of the process... hahaha)
Aside from drinks, ShareTea also offers something to nibble.
Taiyaki cake is a fish-shaped waffle with a yummy custard filling... so good with my cocoa drink!

ReplyDeleteHi Cym, I recommend ShareTea and ChaTime. I think they have branches all over Asia. :)
DeleteIt was in Taiwan when I first tried Milk Tea years ago and I love it. I usually have one after lunch.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any other Milk Tea locally after I tried Chowking's because it is too far from the Milk Tea I had in Taiwan. I am afraid to be disappointed again.
I'm a coffee lover but I don't mind drinking tea for a change. :)
ReplyDeleteI have been seeing ShareTea around Metro Manila but i haven't tried it yet. We usually go to Happy Lemon, hubby's favorite. Do you have Happy Lemon there? You should try it. It started the milk tea craze here in the Phillipines.
ReplyDeletesame here, i prefer tea than coffee. hehe but sometime milk tea makes my tummy ache then go to the bathroom afterwards. hihi
ReplyDeleteI learned about milk tea only last June 2011 and liked it! But we do not have many milk tea places in Z C...
ReplyDeleteThis is certainly the fad worldwide!
ReplyDeletei'm a coffee drinker; but your milktea looks so yummy
ReplyDeleteI'm so inggit! The Taiyaki cake looks so cute! :))
ReplyDeleteI love milk tea! It's my comfort drink too. Haha.
ReplyDeleteAnd that Taiyaki cake looks scrumptious. I wish we have that here in the Philippines. Although I have a seen a fish sandwich like that before, only it's ice cream inside, not custard. And I'm a sucker for custard, so I want to try that.
We have ShareTea here and it's one of my favorites too. Kaso hindi sya ganon kalapit where I live and work. Haven\t noticed if they had that fish shaped bread with custard filling. Will try it if they do :)
