Last December 2, I was able to witness the highlight of UAE's 41st National Day celebration at Downtown Dubai. People of different races lined up in the side walk of Emaar Boulevard to see an hour-long spectacular parade, participated by locals and expatriates. Good thing, the weather was great, no rain showers (which is likely to happen these days since winter season is about to start). It was a perfect, sunny day to celebrate the unity of a nation.
Here are some parade snapshots:
* luxury cars with eye-catching designs *
* Giant Balloons *
* UAE Nationals *
* The Expats *
(The Filipino Community in the photo below)
* parade floats *
* men in stilts, with UAE flag colors in their costume *
It was a fantastic parade, a very successful National Day celebration hosted by Emaar!
Speaking of events, there's more to come this Holiday Season. I'm looking forward to the Christmas specials at the malls, the New Year's Eve countdown at Burj Khalifa and the annual festive parades during DSF (Dubai Shopping Festival).
It is indeed a fantastic parade. So much to see and enjoy. I like the camels parading :-)
ReplyDeleteI was fascinated with the camels and horses during the parade too! :)
Deleteyou're lucky to be able to witness this kind of event.. I wonder how it is to ride those luxury cars..

ReplyDeleteYes, it was fun! Thanks for the visit Meikah!
DeleteThe parade is so cool. Love the camels!
ReplyDeleteThe car colors are so nationalistic!
Yes, they are very nationalistic. I failed to take photos of the flags along the highway, there were a lot!
DeleteAnd I'm looking forward to reading about the Christmas festivities there. :) I can't travel yet and love reading about different places and culture. It makes me feel that I've visited the places also. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Olga, Christmas is fun here, but as we all know "It's more fun in the Philippines!" :)
DeleteWow! Great parade :) Dubai seems like a clean country...is that right?
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! I would have loved to be a photographer there!
ReplyDeleteMy son would have loved the sport cars and beautiful transpo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a parade! Ang saya, and it didn't look like it was too hot out there either. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That's such a wonderful parade1 Imagine seeing luxury cars with one of a kid design pa! Looks like you had so much fun! :)
ReplyDeleteHere in Sharjah, the road along Corniche was totally close. The Al Majaz Park is jam-packed with families everywhere sitting having a fun night, sisha, picnic and food gallore. Dami ring kalat LOL! And some are playing cards pa. The restricted areas where you're not allowed to sit are even occupied. they couldn't stop the people because ang dami kasi grabe.
