Over the weekend, Ed and I went to BurJuman Centre for a little bit of shopping. We were so delighted to see almost all of the items we have been eyeing were on sale. Aside from the discounted shopping, BurJuman had another great treat in store for us. There's a free Broadway show at the mall every night. The free mall show is another perk of the sale season; Dubai Shopping Festival is not just about sale and shopping, it is also a month of fantastic free shows, colorful festival parades and amazing fireworks display.
The Best of Broadway at BurJuman is a world-class show that features songs from famous Broadway musicals, performed by international singers and dancers. We were able to watch snippets of Chicago, Grease, Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Hairspray and a whole lot more.
They performed 'The Circle of Life' and 'Hakuna Matata' from the The Lion King. |
The show had a grand finale with 'You Cant Stop The Beat', a song from Hairspray. |
The Best of Broadway Show at BurJuman Centre is until January 19, 2013. There are 3 shows every night; at 6:15 pm, 7:45 pm and 9:00 pm. Make a note for this under your long shopping list! It is a great show to watch while you take a break on your shopping sprees or when you want to steer away from the shops with sale banners! :)
you're lucky to have a chance to witness all those free shows and great discount
ReplyDeleteI really do hope we can have something like this in the Philippines, a world-class show without the admission fee!

DeleteAll the best Broadway shows rolled into one sounds like something so simple but I bet it has massive audiences everytime
ReplyDeleteThe show had a simple production but was really good. There are 3 shows every night, so it wasn't that crowded when we watched.
DeleteAng sarap naman manood ng ganyan! I wish there were pop up theaters here too, kaso kung meron man malamang di naman pasok sa schedule ko. But still, it's a good way to bring culture to the masses, hehe :)
