Weeks before my flight to the Philippines, I saw several posts about Bacolod Baywalk on Facebook. The photos on the news feed made me so curious about the place. Bacolod Baywalk is the newest attraction in the city. It was inaugurated last February 14, 2013. The 2 hectare area at the coastline of Bacolod can be a dine-out spot for foodies, an entertainment venue for music lovers and a perfect place to watch the beautiful sunset for hopeless romantics.
My family and I went to Bacolod Baywalk after a short visit to Pope John Paul II Tower. Since, I don't want to be disappointed I came without great expectations. But the moment I saw that there's an entrance fee of P20, I began to wonder. Will it be worth it?
I saw a dramatic sunset as the hues of the sky and the sea changed. It was romantic.
There is an area for bike exhibitions. We stood at the side for awhile and watched the teens do some stunts.
The place got crowded when dusk came.
There were families, students and group of friends chit-chattering and strolling.

There were colorful kites in the air.
A short walk from the entrance gate are food stalls of
rice toppings, shawarma, burgers and drinks.

Opposite the food stalls was an area for dining. There's also a stage where live bands perform on weekends.
I absolutely love the idea of open-air entertainment spot by the sea. It's something new in Bacolod; a great addition to the city. Baywalk is a very promising attraction, so when all the proposed projects are done the P20 fee will be worth it. But, as of the moment, I think the entrance fee is questionable.
