I was browsing my Facebook pictures and realized that I have four albums dedicated to Wild Wadi! Yes, FOUR, which simply means I have visited the water park four times for the last five years. The old photos brought nostalgia. I can somehow say that I have witnessed how Wild Wadi changed, along with my life.
Wild Wadi is a great place with fun summer memories. Since the weather has been scorching hot the past few weeks, let me share this refreshing post about Dubai's most refreshing attraction; my favorite water park in the UAE, Wild Wadi.
Wild Wadi is an Arabian themed water park, based on the tale of Juha, a character from a famous Arabic folklore. The water park's concept was based on Juha's adventure in an enchanted island with rapid rivers. Wadi is an Arabic term for a dry valley that turns into a water channel in times of heavy rain. Thus, Wild Wadi have slides that resemble rapid river channels. It is an oasis where people can relax and refresh on a hot summer day.

Wild Wadi has 30 amazing rides and attractions. My all-time-favorite is the high-speed water roller coaster (minus the loop) known as the Master Blasters. It has a series of rides that swoosh up to 15 meters above ground level. The Master Blasters are Flying Falls, Falaj Fury, Jebel Lookout, Wadi Leap, Hos 'n Hurler, Falcon Fury, Thunder Rapids, Rushing Rapids, Wadi Twister, Wadi Basher, Tumble Falls, and a dark channel known as the Tunnel of Doom. On my recent visit, I have also tried Wild Wadi's newest attractions, Burj Surj and Tantrum alley, which are also equally incredible.

2010 - Family Adventure Wild Wadi is for the whole family, even my folks enjoyed the thrilling water slides. |
Wild Wadi's Breaker's Bay is my tranquil spot. It is the largest wave pool in the Middle East that generates 1.5 meter waves in five different configurations. It also offers a great view of the Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel, two of Dubai's well-known structures.

Juha's Dhow and Lagoon is for the kids and the kids-at-heart. There are colorful slides, spritzers and a large bucket that dumps gallons of water every 2 minutes.

Jumeirah Sceirah is the highlight for the thrill seekers. It is one of the fastest and scariest slides in the world, and was even featured in a popular reality TV show. Can you believe that I have conquered the hair-raising slide 4 years ago? It is the most adrenaline rushing experience I have ever had. Jumeirah Sceirah was renovated about a year ago. It is now longer and scarier, as riders will be in an enclosed capsule with a floor that will abruptly open and drop them into a 120 meter slide with a speed of 80km/hour.

There are also surf rides in Wild Wadi. The Wipeout and Riptide Flowriders offer an awesome surfing experience. My adventurous husband was able to try the Riptide and he said, "It is not as easy as it seems!" The rides generate strong realistic waves that can literally sweep you off your feet!

I also love Wild Wadi's food stands, most especially Leila's Oasis where we usually spend our "break time" from the fun and thrilling water slides. There are five food outlets inside the water park that offer burgers, hotdogs, pizzas and even grilled kebabs. Desserts, the healthy and the not-so-healthy kinds, are available at the stands.

General admission rate at Wild Wadi is 235 AED. For children with height under 1.1 meters, entrance fee is only 175 AED. Wild Wadi also has Ladies Night and seasonal promotions such as Ramadan Nights and Late Night Fridays every summer.
