When I first moved to Dubai, I assumed that there wasn’t much of a
night life in the country, mainly due to the high Islamic population and
reserved culture. But how wrong I was! To say I was shocked about the amount of
things to do in the evenings in Dubai is an absolute understatement; from bars,
to clubs and to some of my favourite restaurants in the entire world, the
nightlife in Dubai opened my eyes and I’ve never looked back…
One thing I learned really quickly about the night life in Dubai is
that it’s not just about where you go and who you go out with, but perhaps,
most importantly, how good you look while you’re doing it. Perhaps
unsurprisingly, some of the best clubs in the city can be quite difficult to
get into, with a strict dress code and even stricter bouncers on the door.
Because most of the best licensed bars are in some of the best hotels, it’s
important to look good when you turn up at the door, and that includes
everything, from your hair, to your nails, to outfit, but most importantly,
your skin.
In Dubai, how you treat your skin is perhaps the most important part
of their beauty routine, and while it is one of the hotter countries on the
planet, women in Dubai tend to have excellent skin, as they tend to keep it
covered during the day. Drinking lots of water in Dubai is extremely important,
not just for keeping hydrated, but also for keeping your skin clear and
healthy. One trick that many local women swear by is using natural almond oil
in the evenings, as it provides great moisturization to overly dry skin, and it
can also be a wonderful conditioning treatment for your hair!
One of the must-have products for my handbag is anti-wrinkle eyecream, which I apply daily now that I live in Dubai, as it really helps
minimize the look of the lines around my eyes and helps care for the skin in
that area, keeping it supple, plump and useful. This cream has set me up for
more long nights out in the Palm Jumeirah than I can count!
Of course, great skin looks even better with a glam evening make-up
routine. Perhaps unsurprisingly, make-up is big business in Dubai, with metallic shades, such as gold, platinum and
bronze proving very popular with all the movers and shakers on the scene. One
of my favourite trends at the moment is the 3D manicure, which uses beads and
other textured materials to create a textured manicure, and it looks great in
gold!
When I first came to Dubai, I thought I’d be in bed by 9pm every
night with a cup of cocoa, but I’m so glad that I was wrong, as I’ve had the
chance to experience some of the very best nightlife activities that Dubai can
offer. I can hardly believe how wonderful Dubai has been to me, and I can’t
wait to experience more of it, I’ll just need to invest in more eye cream for
all those late nights I’m going to have!
I love these tips! :) Night life at Dubai seems fun ;)
