I've been extra mushy lately. I spent my mornings listening to Jason Mraz and my late nights having intimate conversations with my husband. I laughed over his corniest joke and got butterflies in my stomach over his cheesiest pick up line. And then out of the blue, I think about candle lights and cuddles, sunsets and sweet escapes. It's probably the hormones, but I think it's more of the Valentine's vibe! :)

For a hopeless romantic, Valentine's Day is an important holiday. It must be celebrated! :) What I love to do during this time of the year is searching for Valentine's Day offerings in the country. Ed usually does all the planning, but as his wife, it is my task to give some obvious hints! Hahah! I would appreciate a candle light dinner in a restaurant. I'd be totally smitten with a fabulous getaway with all the frills. But, I'd be the happiest if we could go on a sweet escape without spending a fortune! Burj Khalifa: Sunrise At The Top

"It's going to be magical. You'd love it!" I reminded myself over and over as I sleepwalked to the bathroom. It was four in the morning and I just had three hours of sleep. Rogo's: The Roller Coaster Restaurant in Yas Mall

I usually don't care much when a certain roller coaster make it to the headlines, but Rogo's sparked my interest. Firstly, it's not something that would scare the hell out of me. It's not a thrilling ride but a restaurant with a roller coaster concept. Secondly, it's the first of its kind in the UAE and the largest in the world. Thirdly, it is the only place where my love for fun-dining and Ed's fascination for roller coasters go along! 

So, when we took a little trip to Yas Island in Abu Dhabi early this month, I made sure we can check out the  much talked about Rogo's the roller coaster restaurant in Yas Mall.

Burj Khalifa LED Show in Photos and Video

I could say that I got the most comfortable spot without spending a fortune during the New Year's Eve Gala at Downtown Dubai. I was in Burj Park having the utmost relaxation in a picnic blanket with my family. Our spot was a vantage point for the dazzling fireworks display. However, there was a downside. We could only see half of the fascinating LED show. :(

The LED-illumination on Burj Khalifa's facade is a Guinness World Record holder. Too bad, I wasn't able to get a full view of it when Dubai's iconic structure clinched the award. But then, the morning after, I learned that there's nothing to be sorry about as the record-breaking display will continue until January 9, 2015! 

I guess you know what I did next. :)

New Year's Eve Spectacle: Fireworks and LED Display in Burj Khalifa

How can you wrap up an awesome year and how can you kick off a new year that you hope to be as good as the previous? I couldn't think of anything better than witnessing a record-breaking New Year celebration with my family!

A few days before 2014 ended, my news feed was full to the brim with announcements on Dubai's new year extravaganza. Aside from the annual spectacular fireworks of Burj Khalifa, LED lights and laser beams were added to its magnificent exterior cladding. Thus, Dubai bagged another Guinness World Record; the world's largest LED-illuminated facade.
