Weekends in Dubai are made for waking up late, lazing in bed a little longer and skipping breakfast for a bigger and better meal called Brunch! They say, nobody does Weekend Brunch as good as Dubai. And I'm out here to prove it right one brunch at a time.
A few weekends ago, Ed and I were thrilled to try out the brunch offerings at Towers Rotana; a towering skyscraper along Sheikh Zayed Road. Towers Rotana houses two weekend brunches - a pub style brunch at Long's Bar and a family style brunch at Flavours on Two. Since Ed and I always prefer to have a wholesome weekend meal, we chose the latter.

Flavours on Two is an all day dining restaurant located at the 2nd level of Towers Rotana. The restaurant has received various awards and recognition in the past years, and recently, it has been nominated in What's On awards' Favorite International Restaurant category.
We arrived in the vibrant-looking buffet restaurant at exactly brunch time. It pays to arrive early in buffets. We got to see how excellent the food presentation is and got to have the first slice of the roast and the cake! ;) We also managed to bag a table with a good view of Sheikh Zayed Road.

Our senses succumbed to the sight of healthy colors, to the smell of rich aromas, and to the taste of excellent world cuisines as one of the staff courteously guided us to each buffet counter. At the salad and appetizer section, there are oysters, sushi, steamed crab, mixed salads... name it, they have it!
I got my buffet staples; seafood and sushi and salads. I immensely loved the freshness of the oysters and the sushi, the crisp texture of the Waldorf Salad and the robustness of the Mediterranean salad (the one with the roasted eggplant)!

A glorious selection of main dishes line the open kitchen. It was more like a culinary journey from Mongolia to Arabia, and it was such a delight to find a Mongolian live-cooking station and Roasted Lamb Leg alongside the usual buffet finds.
The roasted lamb won me over! It's utterly delicious and tender! I can hardly believe that it's the meat I used to dread. It's now clear to me that I had lamb in wrong places and that it's extremely good when properly cooked! On the other hand, the Mongolian Bowl missed to meet my great expectations. I mean, it's not that I don't like it. The ingredients are fresh, the taste is mild and comforting actually, but perhaps I'm terribly inclined to my favorite bowl back home.
On a brighter note, Flavours On Two serves fresh and tasty dim sum, flavorful beef yakitori and whole lot more of gastronomic delights!

The dessert station is a wow! A wide-range of sweets were beautifully arranged in an L-shaped counter. Again, name it, they have it! Of course, I was tantalized with the chocolate fountain, so it was chocolate-covered fruits for me and nothing else.

Finding all things we like in one buffet happens rarely; hence Flavours on Two made a great first impression on us. I wouldn't deny that it's pretty overwhelming, but it's wonderful to be drenched with too many choices especially if you missed breakfast and came hungry!
No wonder why Flavours on Two's brunch is called The Perfect Family Friday Brunch. There's something really good for everyone. The service is commendable too! Nobody goes home lonely! ;)
