Last weekend, I found myself once again inside a bus en route to Abu Dhabi. The capital has been our go-to-destination for short city breaks. This summer alone, we already visited twice! Although the almost 2-hour bus ride became a norm for us, Abu Dhabi never became a mundane destination. The huge emirate has a lot to offer!
Our staycation spot, this time, is in the center of the business district! Sounds ironic, isn't it? But in our home for the weekend - Capital Centre Arjaan by Rotana, business amazingly goes well with leisure.
The Hotel
Capital Centre Arjaan by Rotana is located in the heart of Abu Dhabi's business hub. Convention and exhibition centers are in close proximity. I remember attending a one-day healthcare conference in the convention center just across the road late last year! If it was a two-day event, I could have booked a stay in the same hotel due to convenience.
Apart from being a good base in the business district, the hotel is a quick drive to the top attractions in Abu Dhabi. Guests can reach Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in 9 minutes, Eastern Mangroves in 15 minutes, Yas Island in 30 minutes, and Abu Dhabi International Airport in 20 minutes. No car? Getting a cab easy in the area!

Checking in
The ambiance in the hotel lobby is very formal. But beneath the sleek decors and refined atmosphere is a warm hospitality that instantly made us feel at home. That is actually typical for a Rotana property.
The front desk staff oriented us with the stay inclusions and recreation facilities. Then, we were required to give 200 AED deposit. Nevertheless, the check-in process was quick and courteous.

Classic Studio
Capital Centre Arjaan by Rotana is a first-class hotel apartment with a distinct personal touch. The property has 259 fully furnished studios and suites. We stayed in one of the studios - a thoughtfully designed 38 sqm classic room with a comfortable king size bed, a couch, a functional desk and a versatile dining space.

The classic studio is aptly to be called our "home for the weekend" as it has a fully equipped kitchenette with hot plate, microwave, toaster and utensils. The refrigerator and mini bar are well-stocked, but there's also a convenience store nearby.
Another room amenity that we were so pleased to see is the washing machine. If only we knew, we could have packed our weeklong laundry. Hahah! Anyway, that just goes to show the studio is suitable for guests who prefer to do things independently while on vacation.

The en suite bathroom is elegant and spacious. It has a walk-in shower, fluffy towels and basic toiletries. We asked for a comb and dental kits over the phone, and these were delivered it to our room shortly.

Recreation Facilities
Remember when I said that business goes well with leisure at Capital Centre Arjaan? It is because of the recreation facilities! The hotel has a fitness and wellness club with a state-of-the-art gymnasium, an exclusive sauna and steam rooms for men and women, and serene massage rooms.
Our favorite hotel facility is none other than the outdoor pool. Well, I know, it's pretty obvious as staycations normally involve lounging in a pool deck. But, what I love about the pool in Capital Centre Arjaan is that it is temperature controlled and suitable for both adults and kids... and for not-so-good swimmers like me. The good view of the "Leaning Tower of Abu Dhabi" is an added bonus!

Breakfast at Tamarind
Included in our stay is a breakfast buffet in Tamarind - one of the two dining options in Capital Centre Arjaan. It is the hotel's all-day dining restaurant. The vibe was trendy; quite a good break from the formal atmosphere in the hotel lobby.
For breakfast, International and Arabic selections were present in the buffet. There's also a live-cooking station for eggs, waffles and pancakes. The spread was too perfect for my liking. The service was excellent as well; I never thought it could go a notch higher. But when the chef surprised us with a lovely plate of crepe, breakfast was made even more special!
