Over 10 years of "dating", Ed and I unconsciously created a Date Night Bucket list. We don't talk about it, but this list of dining venues seem to pop up whenever we decide where to celebrate a special occasion.
One very unique restaurant on our list is Al Dawaar - a revolving restaurant and lounge perched in the 25th floor of Hyatt Regency Dubai.

Al Dawaar is a prime date night venue in Dubai since 1981. It remains to be the only rooftop, revolving restaurant and lounge in the city. This year, it has undergone a major makeover, and recently it re-opened with a fresh new colonial look!
A few weekends ago, Ed and I finally had the pleasure of dining at Al Dawaar. An express elevator whisked us directly from the hotel lobby to the 25th floor. There, we were welcomed to a romantic and intimate atmosphere.
A staff ushered us to a table for two by the window overlooking the corniche. We were seated next to the decorative wooden blinds; hence, I innocently asked if we can transfer to the table with an unobstructed view next to us. She smiled and told me not to worry as we are dining in a moving platform. We will have a better view in no time. Gosh! How can I forget? We are in a REVOLVING restaurant! Hahah!

The circular dining and lounge venue rotates around a stationary bar and buffet. For starters, Al Dawaar has a vibrant selection of salads, sushi and sashimi, Arabic mezze, cheese and cold cuts. I personally love the crisp nachos and chunky guacamole in this section. The sushi rolls are also worth mentioning, but I wasn't surprised with its goodness as we have already known that Hyatt Regency Dubai is also a home to the authentic Japanese restaurant - Miyako.

An open kitchen offering an array of international delicacies is manned by master chefs! Beside the live kitchen are meat lovers station and "catch of the day" seafood dishes. Here we had succulent US prime rib, juicy lamb kebab, roasted duck and a whole lot more! Oh! Did I mention the seafood section has fresh and delectable oysters?

Finest wines, handcrafted cocktails, and a lavish dessert counter completed the fine dining with a view experience. Our table was next to the dessert station and I couldn't help but eye on the well-presented sweet treats in between the courses!

Overall, our date night in Al Dawaar is “an experience like no other.” We were excited to dine in the restaurant mainly because it revolves;. It is unique; definitely not like other dinner venues we have been to. But then, we realized that there's so much more to love about Al Dawaar. The hospitality is fantastic. The food selection is wonderful and of great range. The view, of course, is spectacular!
