Weekends in Dubai call for lavish Friday Brunches in hotels! I do love to dress up for this occasion, but more often than not, I would rather ditch the fancy dress and high heels for a comfy get-up! Hence, the Tailgate Brunch - a laid back bbq brunch - at TRYP by Wyndham immediately caught my attention.

The Tailgate Brunch is held every Friday from 2 to 5 pm in Local restaurant. The venue is known to be a cool neighborhood eatery in Barsha Heights. And it is exactly what we noticed the moment we arrived at the reception.
The staff are polite, yet they're just "chill" and relishing the relaxed weekend vibe. The interior is rustic and cozy and rightly accentuated with smooth live music. The bbq set up at the terrace, with a pick-up truck, completes the lazy weekend with a picnic atmosphere.

The outdoor stalls are live cooking stations for popcorn, burgers, sausages, and pies. They serve four varieties of meat: beef, chicken, lamb, and camel! Yeah! Here you can challenge your friends to try something exotic... like a camel burger or a camel mince pie!

Too bad eating outdoor is no longer comfortable. We opted to dine indoors and looking at the bright side, we were seated near the band and a few steps away from the beverage stalls.

Apart from the bbq selections, the Tailgate Brunch also has an appetizing array of starters! A basket of bread, beetroot hummus, olives, and cheese, along with a bottle of cocktail were served on our table. The salads are beautifully presented and super fresh!

As for dessert, there's a chocolate fountain, a make-your-own eton mess, a soft-serve ice cream machine and a candy bar! I could say that it is a minimalist dessert counter, yet everything's just right for my sweet tooth.

Overall, the Tailgate Brunch is a wonderful late brunch that lets you get enough sleep in the morning (It only starts at 2PM.) and lets you enjoy the rest of your lazy weekend in a fun and casual ambiance!
