It has been a while since I had a Friday off. Working on a weekend isn't that bad, but then I miss going to Friday Brunches! You know how brunches are here in the UAE; it's a pretty huge deal! So when I finally got my long-awaited weekend break, Ed and I went to O'Learys in Hilton Dubai Creek for the Home-Run Friday Brunch.
O'Learys Sports Bar
O'Learys is a Boston-themed sports bar. The interior is nicely decorated with sports memorabilia and live sports are shown on the TV screens. A person who is not into sports could easily get alienated, but O'Learys has a warm cozy vibe that made me feel at ease.
Despite the masked faces, I could tell the staff gave us a cheery welcome. We were led to a comfy leather couch near the bar, but we opted to sit by the window for natural light and a little view of Dubai Creek. She, then, advised us to scan the QR code for the brunch menu. There's no buffet spread as the dishes are served from the kitchen to the table once ordered.
In this time of the pandemic, I appreciate how the paperless menu and the free-flowing food concept are incorporated into this Friday Brunch.

Home-Run Friday Brunch
Minutes after we settled in our table, our drinks were served along with a basket of popcorn and some colorful nachos with dips! Then, the rest of the starters followed. We had Classic Caesar Salad, New England Chicken Salad, Chicken Croquettes, Onion Rings, and Calamares a la Romana. The salads are fresh and lightly dressed. The hot bites were golden-fried to perfection.
From hot selections, we had Buffalo Wings and Sliders. From the grill, we had chicken, beef, and tofu skewers. And from the live cooking station, we had quesadillas and three types of pasta dishes.
So, we basically ordered small portions of everything! Hahaha. It was a good call as we get to indulge in a variety of flavors! Ed chose the tofu skewers as his favorite, and I have to agree that the sweet satay sauce made it very distinct from the rest of what we had. The sliders also left a mark on me; I love the soft potato bun, the juicy patty, and tangy barbecue sauce!
After we devoured the main dishes, a sampler of O'Learys dessert was served. Creme Caramel, American Cheesecake, and Death by chocolate capped off the Home-Run brunch with a sweet note!

Pool with a View
A huge bonus to O'Learys Home-Run Brunch is the free rooftop pool access! We were so excited when we heard about this! I mean, Hilton Hotel sits in an excellent location along Dubai Creek. And that simply means great views of both Old and New Dubai!
We were right! Just take a look at these...
